CARLA NAVARRO

PARALEGAL

Carla Navarro began her career in the legal field in 2012 when she worked as a legal assistant for the Managing Attorney at a civil litigation firm in San Diego, CA. She quickly realized she wanted to grow further and expand her skillset as a paralegal. To that end, she enrolled in the University of San Diego’s ABA-approved Paralegal Program where she graduated with honors in 2014.

In addition to her dexterity as a paralegal, Carla quickly demonstrated strong leadership skills and was promoted to manage the legal departments in San Diego and the firm’s satellite office in Tijuana. Carla’s ambition to solidify her legal skills led her to obtain the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) Certified Paralegal designation in 2015.

To continue expanding her experience, Carla spent a few years working for corporate in-house legal departments where she ultimately assumed the Senior Paralegal position for a newly created in-house legal department. In her leadership position, Carla spearheaded new legal departments by developing and creating standard operating procedures for contested cases, propounding and responding to discovery, and workflow processes.

As a paralegal, Carla thrives by supporting attorneys and law firms with analysis, summaries, and factual investigations. She has developed keen analysis, judgment, and critical thinking skills. Her extensive exposure to document management and large caseloads, drafting pleadings, filing motions, preparing discovery work, and covering a wide range of aspects in supporting a legal department make Carla a flexible, reliable, and diverse asset.

Carla’s well-honed set of skills found a perfect match when she joined the ARC IP Law, PC team in 2019. She now fills a position as a civil litigation and general business paralegal and offers senior paralegal assistance. She has since obtained two NALA Advanced Certified Paralegal certifications in both Business Organizations - Incorporated Entities, and Contracts Management.

In addition to being a paralegal professional, Carla is a licensed California Notary and is fluent in Spanish.

In her life outside the legal field, Carla honors her theatre degree from Santiago, Chile, and feeds her creative outlet by staying active with local San Diego theatres as a performer as well as a playwright. (www.Carla-Navarro.com)
